Happy 4th Annivesary Essays.ph

Time flies really fast. I can still remember the day when i was hesitant to join Essays.ph because I just saw it in Google and I thought it's one of those scam  online jobs. I am so glad I went with the application. It's been 2 years since the day I applied.
Now I enjoy writing and I earn some money. Furthermore, I learn a lot as a writer. For this, I thank all the editors who are very patient and understanding. I know it is not easy to edit several articles from different writers. You have always been professional and that is what I like about this company.
Essays.ph may not be the highest paying online writing company, but they are very honest, professional and decent. I would have not lasted this long with them if they are not pleasant to work with.
I have tried several online writing gigs but they all turned out to be a failure. Thank you Essays.ph for allowing me to become a better writer.   Thank you for letting me enjoy writing and earn from it a well.

Vicodin Overdose and Abuse – How Much is Enough

Vicodin overdose and abuse is possible due to its component, the opiate hydrocodone. Vicodin is used to treat pain due to severe injury or because of surgery. It is prescribed to treat mild to severe pain. It has two active ingredients such as acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Acetaminophen is known as Tylenol while hydrocodone is the narcotic. Please take note that this drug must be taken with your doctor’s prescription. Prolonged use of Vicodin will result to resistance to the drug. Therefore, a person needs higher dose of this medicine to get the desired effects.
The need for higher dose puts a person at risk of overdose. The hydrocodone in Vicodin is also a semi-synthetic opioid which has the similar effect of morphine. It gives you the feeling of euphoria, reduces anxiety and gives you a pleasant experience. A lot of people abuse Vicodin because they don’t want to undergo withdrawal. Vicodin overdose and abuse is possible when you no longer experience pain relief on a normal dose.  Some attempts to take a higher dose to beat the symptoms of withdrawal. Others take a higher dose to achieve the feeling of “high” without knowing that they are at risk of a deadly overdose.

When To Know When You Are Suffering From Vicodin Overdose

Due to the narcotic component of Vicodin, taking too much of this drug can lead to:
·         Cold and clammy skin
·         Low blood pressure
·         Slow heart rate
·         Drowsiness
·         Difficulty in breathing
·         Cardiac arrest
·         Death
Since it also contains acetamenophine, these symptoms may also occur:
·         Confusion and irritability
·         Jaundice
·         Sweating
·         Nausea/Vomiting
·         Diarrhea
·         Appetite loss
·         Failure of the liver
When Vicodin is taken with alcohol, it will maximize its depressant symptoms which can lead to coma and loss of life. If taken with muscle relaxants, cold medications, seizure medications or sleeping pills, it may lead to life threatening symptoms that need immediate medical attention.

Treatment For Vicodin Overdose

Both the active ingredients of Vicodin are potentially fatal hen taken in large doses. Hydrocodone affects the nervous system and causes respiratory depression. Taking large dose of acetaminophen can lead to liver failure which may require a liver transplant if the damage caused is severe.
If Vicodin overdose is suspected, emergency number 911 should be called right away. One in the hospital, the medical staff will either pump the person’s stomach or induce vomiting. Activated charcoal may also be used by the doctor so that the drug is absorbed from the digestive tract of the patient. Use of activated carbon is effectively used in treating various kinds of poisoning.
Another option is to use an antidote such as Narcan for the effects of hydroconone to be counteracted. This medication should be carefully administered as it may cause unpleasant side effects. Detox is the first step in the Vicodin treatment plan. To treat Vicodin overdose and abuse, a person must undergo rehab on a center that specializes in Vicodin abuse.

China Is Now Claiming Philippines As Theirs

I just read the news today and I don't know how to react. I was just kidding with my hubby that one of these days, China will claim Philippines as their territory and now it has happened.

Here's the complete news article from Yahoo News!

BEIJING (AFP) - An anchor on China's state-run television network accidentally declared the Philippines a part of China, in an embarrassing gaffe as tensions between the two nations run high.

He Jia, anchor for China Central Television's (CCTV) nationally televised news broadcast, made the claim during a late Monday broadcast that has been repeatedly replayed on the Internet.

The presenter apparently meant to say that the Huangyan islands - known in the Philippines as the Scarborough or Panatag Shoal, and claimed by both nations - is China's territory.

"We all know that the Philippines is China's inherent territory and the Philippines belongs to Chinese
farmers' income and provide opportunities to modernize their production and post-harvest capabilities."

Viewers joked in online postings that the presenter's nationalistic fervor led to her mistake.

"This anchor woman is great, a good patriot, she has announced to the world the the Philippines belongs to China," said a microblogger named helenjhuang.

"We should attack directly, send (Philippine President Benigno) Aqui¬no packing and take back our inherent territory."

Another microblogger named kongdehua said, "the Philippines have basically been making irrational trouble, if they want to start a war then we will strike, no one fears them.

"If every Chinese spat once, we could drown (the Philippines)."

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying said late Monday Beijing was ready for "any escalation" of the maritime standoff with the Philippines that has become one of the most high-profile flare ups over the South China Seas and its vast oil and gas deposits in years.

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda yesterday asserted that the Philippines has not done anything to escalate tensions in Panatag Shoal.

"So far, we've not done anything to provoke and the instruction of the President was very clear: we do not wish to escalate tension," Lacierda said at a Malacanang press briefing.

"The only thing we're doing right now is to document the situation right now in Panatag Shoal and if ever there are incidents . . . we will report it."

Describing the situation at Panatag Shoal as "relatively calm," he also belied reports that China now has 33 vessels in the area.

"There was a statement that there were about 33 (vessels). I clarified it with Commodore Edmund Tan of the PCG (Philippine Coast Guard), there are only seven fishing vessels and two FLEC (fisheries law enforcement command) and two maritime vessels so there were 11. The 33 that was reported are not really vessels but rubber boats," Lacierda said.

He said there are five Filipino fishing boats, one Philippine Coast Guard vessel, and another from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

In a separate statement, the Philippine Coast Guard said Filipino fishermen are still operating at the rich fishing ground contrary to reports that they have been barred from the area by Chinese vessels.

"There is no report such as that. We keep on patrolling the area," said PCG commandant Vice Admiral Edmund Tan.
He was reacting to the statements made by a local government of Zambales province that fishermen can no longer be found fishing at the Panatag Shoal as they fear for the safety due to the standoff.

"Our fishermen can still go there to fish," said Tan. "They are the ones saying it, not us," he added.

The PCG has even encouraged fishermen near the Panatag Shoal to assert the country's sovereignty by fishing in the lagoon.

"We are asking the Filipino fishermen from Bataan, Zambales and Pampanga to fish in the area. The Bajo de Masinloc is our own so do not be afraid, we have a PCG vessel there," Tan said.

In Congress, House leaders called on President Aquino to be firm in asserting the nation's rights over the disputed shoal but through diplomatic means.

Deputy Speaker and Cavite Rep. Crispin Remulla said Chinese claims that it was prepared to assert jurisdic¬tion over the disputed seas should be expected.

"I would be more surprised if they weren't prepared. I think the Philippines is being used as an experiment to gauge the US' response to a crisis in the West Philippine Sea. The Aquino administration has no choice but to use diplomacy to ensure non-escalation as we will be the biggest loser in all of this," he told the Manila Bulletin.

Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone said, "We should not be cowed into submission due to this bullying. We should continue to assert our legal and valid right over the area."

Agham party-list Representative Angelo Palmones said that while he does not see any escalation over the territorial dispute, the government should revive Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program.

"While I don't believe the standoff will reach to a combat action, the emerging threats of external aggression call for the revival of the ROTC program to strengthen our reserve force. A well-trained, disciplined and determined combat force can match a well-equipped aggressor. Remember, Gat Andres Bonifacio and Lapu-Lapu confronted their enemies with bolo," he said.

Meanwhile Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile said the presence of Chinese vessels preventing Filipino from operating in the disputed waters was an "indication China is grabbing the place from us."

"We must prepare. We better buy war equipment. We better buy our weapons, our means of defense," Enrile said. "What do you do when your neighbor who lives far from your place goes to your home armed with swords, arrows and javelin? You should buy your own weapons then and sharpen your swords too."

But Senator Gringo Honasan cautioned against aggravating the situation, saying the government has to admit its limitations.
Honasan thinks China is "just posturing and muscle-flexing."

"Even if China deploys its fleet, do you think other countries would agree to that? The United States' Seventh Fleet and the Pacific Fleet also passes through that area. You think they would allow China to do that on a sustained basis without a counter-measure? I don't think so," Honasan said.

Tawas: A Natural Way of Healing Swollen Gums

Last week, I found out that Tawas has more to offer. Currently, my daughters and I are using it as an anti-perspirant and as a body scrub. It turns out that tawas is very effective in removing the odor brought by too much sweating.
Because of the summer heat, we perspire a lot and we can't use the air conditioner for the whole day because we can't afford to pay our electric bill. We live in a place that is breezy in the afternoon but it is still hot and of course, we perspire more than usual.
To prevent my family from developing body odor, we are now using tawas, but not regularly. Only when we feel like using it and it works. I usually apply tawas after my first bath in the morning, so does my children.
Back to last week, I wasn't able to eat properly because my gums are swollen. I'd say my teeth are not in their best condition so I thought, if tawas can cure blisters, maybe it can help reduce the inflammation of my gums.
So I decided to brush with tawas. I brushed my teeth with my regular toothpaste first then I used tawas to brush one more time. The tawas gave a bitter-sour after-taste and a sticky-feel enveloped my entire mouth. I brushed once again with my regular toothpaste and the sour-bitter taste plus the sticky feeling in my mouth are gone.
It feels strange but I felt like my mouth is much cleaner and the odor is greatly reduced. I observed for a few hours and my mouth didn't start to smell until the afternoon, when I'm done eating my breakfast, lunch and merienda. In the evening, before going to sleep, I repeated the same procedure again and I was surprised to see no blood in my sink. Usually, I see blood every time I spit after I brush and there is none this time.
I used to gargle with mouthwash in the evening before going to bed, but this time I decided not to. I wanted to test how effective this tawas is. When I woke up in the morning, i was surprised because my mouth don't smell that bad.
The inflammation on my gums is gone and my mouth smells better. I'm not using tawas to brush my teeth everyday because I don't have swollen gums anymore. I do use tawas to brush my teeth once every week. I just put a small amount of tawas on my brush, just enough to cover the top of my toothbrush. I brush it just like I do with a toothpaste. When I think my whole mouth is brushed with tawas, I gargle and brush with my regular toothpaste once again. It's a simple thing to do actually.
Tawas has many health benefits and its cheap, non-toxic and easy to find. Anyone can use tawas and there were no reports of any harmful side effects.

Aloe Vera: A Natural Way of Healing Wounds

When I was younger, we have Aloe Vera lined up on our garden. I know that my Dad uses it to increase the growth of his hair, because he's starting to bald. Other than that, I never gave it much importance.

As I was researching on the net, I bumped on a website discussing the health benefits of Aloe Vera. I was surprised to know that this particular herb has a lot of health benefits.

What struck me most was to know that Aloe Vera can treat wounds, cuts and burns without leaving a scar. I should have known this when I was younger so I should have spared myself from scars. The gel found in the innermost part of the leaf is effective in healing wounds and bruise when applied directly to the affected area.

I also didn't know that Aloe Vera is safe to consume. I always thought it's toxic and can only be used externally. Aloe Vera enhances the quality of blood therefore it also reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. It prevents the clumping of blood which causes stroke. You can mix it on your favorite drink or shake, or consume the gel fresh from the leaf.

Aloe Vera still has a lot of health benefits but these are the ones that caught my attention since I can relate to them.

My Mom is suffering from high blood and she's also complaining of arthritis and sore gums. I will definitely plant Aloe Vera on our front yard and test if it's really effective.

This herb is easy to propagate. When I was younger, I remember my Dad sticking a bunch of Aloe Vera leaves in our garden and in a few weeks, it's alive with minimum supervision. In a few months, we have dozens of Aloe Vera in our garden.

This is an herb that you should not ignore. Aloe Vera is safe, natural and easy to propagate with many health benefits that you can take advantage of.

Funny Epic Fails of Auto-Correct

I was reading an article at Yahoo News about the most hilarious auto-correct fails and I can't stop to laugh.

I can't imagine the embarrassment of the people involved in the conversation. So much for being a smart phone, auto-correct may not be that smart anyway.

I'm sure you can't stop your laugh either when you read the epic fails of auto-correct.

Tawas: Get Rid Of Body Odor While Lightening Your Skin

Tawas (Potassium alum) is used for centuries in Asia, particularly the Philippines to whiten skin and eliminate body odor.

Tawas is a natural white crystalline mineral salt of potassium or double sulfate of potassium. Tawas is antimicrobial so it prevents the growth of bacteria that causes body odor. It is natural, therefore it is safe.

Unlike Deodorants, it does not inhibit sweating, instead, it stops the bacteria from growing which results to the elimination of body odor.

Tawas should not be used on cuts and burns as it will cause a stinging sensation and irritation.

When combined with honey and lemon, tawas is an effective skin whitener. I personally use tawas as a body scrub. I use the powderized form.

I started using tawas since high school. It was introduced to me and my siblings by my Mom. This was to prevent us from having body odor and to lighten our skin color as well.

At first, I thought, it wasn;t really working. But then I realized that it did make a big difference. I stopped using tawas when I got pregnant. It just slipped out of my mind.

Recently, I looked at some of my old pictures and saw the big difference. I was really dark when I was younger and during my college days, I got fairer skin. Since I stopped using tawas, my skin got a little darker and I noticed some dark spots.

I am using tawas again, and so are my children and I see considerable results. My eldest daughter often complains that her armpit smells when she perspire. I'm having second thoughts with deodorants since she's still too young. She's only 10 years old. And so, I decided to let her use the ever reliable tawas.

In just one day of use, my daughter told me that her pits no longer smell and she is very happy about it. She's just too excited t grow. And she's starting to notice a lot of changes on her body.

I have been using powdered tawas as a body scrub for a week now and I see my skin getting lighter. It feels good to the skin too. Old skin is removed and new, glowing skin is starting to show.

Tawas is very affordable and it works. It has been tried and tested over the centuries. It is hypoallergenic and does not need any special gadgets and concoctions to work.
