Cellulite: Truth About This Condition

I was writing an article about cellulite and I thought it would be better if I share it here on my blog.

Cellulite is the appearance of dimpled, lumpy skin usually on the thighs, butt and stomach. It affects more girls than boys.
According to studies, girls are more prone to cellulite because of the difference in collagen structure. The collagen in men has a tighter structure than women. In men, the collagen looks like a cross-linked fence while for women, it appears like a picket fence. The structure of  collagen in men is better in holding fats than in women.
Cellulite affects both fat and slim people. Although obesity aggravates the appearance of cellulite.

Cellulite is caused  by fatty tissues formed in honeycombs pushing against the connective tissue underneath your skin. This condition does not pose any medical risks but it is cosmetically disturbing.

Various products have been advertised to effectively reduce and eliminate cellulite but none of these products are scientifically proven to be effective.

Cellulite is associated to lifestyle and diet. In developing countries, women are less affected by cellulite. Especially those who live in the provinces. When you check their breakfast, they eat calorie-filled foods but they are able to use all the calories they consumed. Why? Because they are moving. They go to the farm and plant their seeds. They get water from a well miles away from home and they do household chores all the time.

On the other hand, in industrialized countries, women eats calorie-filled foods but they are not able to burn them. Why? Because they hurry to go to work and sit on their office for the longest time.

It only means that cellulite can be reduced by exercise and well balanced diet. Move around, try not to be lazy. If you can walk going to work, do so. Healthy living does not only make your cellulite away, it makes you healthier as a person.

So, before you decide to use those cellulite treatments, change your lifestyle first. Live a healthy life and eat healthy.

North Korea Rocket Launch Was A Failure: It Is A Sign

Before the failed rocket launch, North Korea scheduled their rocket launch on April 12, 2012. But due to not so good weather condition, they postponed it for the day later. And so they launched their rocket and only a minute in the air, it shattered  into pieces and never made it to its destination.

For me, I think this is a sign from above that they should stop what they are doing. Instead of creating rockets and nuclear weapons, why not spend the money on their people?

I am not judging anyone and this is just my opinion. Just a few days ago, we Filipinos are very worried because of the possibility of some debris falling in the Philippine territory.

I heard news saying the North Korea rocket does not contain any radioactive materials. Yes, but the problem is, they are not certain how big the debris will be.

I also heard on the news that the Philippines is lucky the rocket failed after only a minute in the atmosphere. If it stayed in the atmosphere for at least 2 minutes or more, the damage to the Philippines could be unimaginable.

As a person, I believe that in whatever you do, you should always protect the safety of all life forms, especially human beings. North Korea was stern in saying that their rocket is only for the purpose of satellite to monitor their mountains and what not. Even so, they should still take into account the damage that it may cause to other people, not only for their citizens.

Still, I am very thankful that the rocket launch is over and it did not do any harm to anyone.

I am praying that the news about North Korea planning to do nuclear testing is not true.

God bless us all and may He bless us with clear mind and proper wisdom.

Dr. Seuss, The Lorax, A Movie Review

I just watched this movie with my kids entitled, Dr. Seuss, The Lorax.

At first I thought it was just a movie created for kids, therefore I will not enjoy it. But I was proven wrong.

Yes, this film was created for kids... and adults alike. Although it was an animated cartoon, it was funny actually with a great moral lesson.

See, as we grow older, we forget to be wiser. We think that we know what is best. We are so consumed to be successful and we quantify our success with how much money we have.

We forget that there are other more important things in life than money. And because we are too hooked in getting more and more money, we justify all the wrong deeds that we do. Yes, we industrialize our country by constructing high-rise buildings and market unhealthy, tasty foods.

We justify that we don't cut trees just because we want to, its because we need to. It's because we need to construct other multimillion Casino in this place and the trees are on our way.

Sad to admit but this is true. Just like in The Lorax, The Once-Ler only wanted to be successful. But he forgot that there are also other life forms around him.

The one I thought to be a kids movie taught me a very valuable lesson; don't be greedy. Don't let anyone dictate what you should do. What is wrong is wrong, no excuses.

I hope you find the movie as enlightening as I did.

 Happy Viewing!
